The tools I use are all 100% natural and come from the earth. Clay on wood is the pallet, minerals from
the earth mixed with the yolk of an egg provide the colors, and the gold for the halo is gold leaf. After
each icon is completed, the surface is covered with Olifa, a natural linseed oil. It is applied by hand and
serves to protect the icon and is also a sign of anointing.
